Examines the largely unexplored role of clay spatial patterns in dictating Cr(VI) sorption using column experiment and numerical simulations. Systematically explore the role of Calcite distribution patterns in dictating its dissolution rates under an array of flow velocity, permeability contrast and pH conditions using flow-through column experiments and reactive transport modeling.

Research on Oxygen Reduction Catalyst in Microbial Fuel Cells (MFC) in Tsinghua University: Developed a low-cost and effective oxygen reduction catalyst by pyrolyzing carbon mixed iron-chelated ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (PFeEDTA/C) in an argon atmosphere. Examined its long-term stability, and the catalyst was stable during 31 days operation.

Research on Activated Carbon Prepared from Biomass in Shandong University: Developed a low-cost and effective activated carbon from Polygonum orientale Linn by phosphoric acid activation, and evaluated its ability to remove the basic dyes, Pb(II) ions and 2,4-dichlorophenol.
